Structural Engineer
About the Role
We are looking for a Structural Engineer to support the development of next-generation defence systems through structural strength and fatigue analysis. In this role, you will perform simulations and engineering calculations using FEA and analytical methods, assess metal and composite structures, and provide analysis reports to support qualification and safety activities. Working closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams, you will help optimise designs, evaluate test results, and contribute to the delivery of reliable, high-performance defence products.
At Frankenburg, you will join an exceptional team of leading experts in technology and national defence, building next-generation defence missile systems for the free world. You will work in a fast-paced environment where your contribution shapes how we verify and demonstrate advanced defence systems. If you thrive on innovation and impact — we want to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities
Structural Analysis & Simulation
Perform structural strength, stiffness, and fatigue analyses of missile and launcher components using FEA and analytical methods to predict and validate structural performance.Qualification Support
Prepare analysis reports and strength documentation to support verification, qualification, and safety activities.Design Optimisation
Work closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams to improve designs, evaluate trade-offs, and enhance structural performance throughout the product lifecycle.Testing & Validation
Analyse test results and structural failures to validate simulations and support design improvements.Documentation & Traceability
Maintain clear and traceable records of structural analyses, engineering assumptions, requirements, and supporting documentation in line with company processes.
We Would Love You to Have
Experience
Previous experience in structural analysis, fatigue calculations, and mechanical design of metallic and composite structures, preferably in aerospace, UAV or space applications.Technical Expertise
Proficiency with FEA and 3D CAD software (ANSYS, Nastran, SolidWorks etc), structural and fatigue analysis, and a strong theoretical understanding of structural mechanics. Familiarity with defence industry standards (MIL-STD, STANAG) is a plus.Soft Skills
Proactive, solution-oriented mindset with exceptional communication skills. Delivery-focused, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet strict deadlines.Mission Alignment
Strong alignment with our mission to build affordable and mass-manufacturable defence technologies — ensuring every euro spent moves us closer to our goal.Security Clearance
Willingness to undergo a background check as a condition of employment.Open to Relocate
Willingness to relocate to Tallinn.
Our Values
Our mission is ambitious, and it takes a team that works with the same intensity.
Own the Mission: Mission first. Always.
We choose impact — we focus on what moves the mission forward fastest instead of “nice-to-haves". We fix it now — when delays or problems appear, we step up, rally the right people, and solve them immediately. We keep momentum — when time matters, we stay focused and move forward without waiting for perfect conditions.Strive for More: Dare more. Do more. Achieve the impossible.
We challenge the status quo — we question, test, and improve instead of accepting “the usual way.” We embrace discomfort — we step outside comfort zones and turn challenges into growth. We anticipate the future — we build solutions that scale and set higher standards each time.Build with Trust: Be open. Keep promises.
We walk the talk — what we say, we do. No excuses, no exceptions. We share openly — we communicate clearly and early, even when the news is hard. We own outcomes — we admit errors quickly, fix them, and prevent them from repeating.

About Frankenburg Technologies Group
Frankenburg Technologies a is a European defence technology company building affordable, mass-manufacturable guided missile systems for modern air and missile defence.
This is a demanding engineering and manufacturing challenge. Guided missile systems must be precise, reliable and safe to operate, while also being affordable enough to use against mass aerial threats and producible in quantity.
Frankenburg's first system, Mark I, is a guided interceptor missile, designed to defeat unmanned aerial systems, including drone swarms, at close range.
Alongside missile development, Frankenburg is building the factories, supply chains and production processes needed to produce missiles in quantity and replenish them quickly.
Headquartered in Tallinn, Estonia, Frankenburg operates in Latvia, the United Kingdom and Germany, with further European presence in Lithuania, Poland and Denmark.
Join us in building the world’s next missile house.
