Control Engineer (Missile Systems)
About the Role
We are seeking a Control Engineer (Missile Systems) to take ownership of control-related challenges across our development portfolio. In this role, you will architect, implement, and validate robust control solutions — from designing end-to-end control loops to tuning advanced controllers.
Your expertise will enable autonomous flight, precision guidance, and reliable maneuverability for our next-generation missile platforms. This is a highly technical, hands-on position where your work directly shapes the success of complex aerospace programs. If you are looking for a lasting impact on future aerospace capabilities — we want to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities
Control System Architecture
Design end-to-end control system architectures for the overall homing loop and the dedicated Control Actuation System (CAS), ensuring mission performance, reliability, and safety.Cross-Functional Integration
Collaborate with actuation, airframe, propulsion, and GNC teams to align control laws with actuator bandwidth, structural dynamics, and sensor characteristics.Control Law Design
Develop and tune controllers using classical (PID, gain scheduling) and modern robust techniques (LQR, H∞, μ synthesis, inversion-based methods) to meet autonomous flight specs.Modeling and Requirements
Contribute to high-fidelity vehicle dynamics models and derive clear control system requirements, maintaining configuration baselines throughout the product lifecycle.
We Would Love You to Have
Educational Background
Master’s degree in aerospace, electrical engineering, cybernetics, or a related field.Experience
Experience in designing the controllers that tolerate parameter variations, uncertainties, and external disturbances.Technical Skills
Extensive expertise in PID, LQR, gain scheduling, inversion-based control, H∞ tuning, and μ synthesis. Deep insight into cross dependencies of the missile subsystems, e.g. actuators, sensors, and flight dynamics.Soft Skills
Solution-oriented mindset, excellent communication, and keen attention to detail. Able to perform with minimal support staff, rolling up your sleeves when needed.Mission Alignment
Strong alignment with our mission to build affordable and mass-manufacturable defence technologies — ensuring every euro spent moves us closer to our goal.Security Clearance
Willingness to undergo a background check as a condition of employment.
Our Values
Our mission is ambitious, and it takes a team that works with the same intensity.
Own the Mission: Mission first. Always.
We choose impact — we focus on what moves the mission forward fastest instead of “nice-to-haves". We fix it now — when delays or problems appear, we step up, rally the right people, and solve them immediately. We keep momentum — when time matters, we stay focused and move forward without waiting for perfect conditions.Strive for More: Dare more. Do more. Achieve the impossible.
We challenge the status quo — we question, test, and improve instead of accepting “the usual way.” We embrace discomfort — we step outside comfort zones and turn challenges into growth. We anticipate the future — we build solutions that scale and set higher standards each time.Build with Trust: Be open. Keep promises.
We walk the talk — what we say, we do. No excuses, no exceptions. We share openly — we communicate clearly and early, even when the news is hard. We own outcomes — we admit errors quickly, fix them, and prevent them from repeating.
