Simulation Engineer
About the Role
We are seeking a Simulation Engineer to develop, refine, and maintain reliable model-based simulations for our next-generation missile systems. Your expertise will help us produce affordable defence solutions at scale, rapidly and reliably — all while helping to defend the free world.
Your role is critical to validate guidance, navigation, and control algorithms and ensure overall system performance under real‑world conditions. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to create robust SIL/CIL/HIL environments, translate algorithms into operational software, and define the simulation standards that drive our development pipeline.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain complex multi‑rate simulations that accurately represent flight dynamics and subsystem interactions, including actuators and sensor measurements.
- Design and implement Software‑In‑the‑Loop and Controller‑In‑the‑Loop test benches to validate algorithms and system behaviour.
- Collaborate with guidance, navigation, and control, systems design, propulsion, and avionics experts to integrate critical simulation modules.
- Deliver clean, verified reference models that enable conversion of MATLAB/Simulink algorithms into production‑grade C/C++ code for flight computers.
- Define coding and modelling standards, derive requirements, and produce Interface Control Documents to ensure consistency and quality across the development pipeline.
We Would Love You to Have
- Educational Background
Technical degree in aerospace, computational engineering, cybernetics, or a related field. - Experience
Previous experience in modelling aerospace or missile systems, including multi-rate and mixed-signal simulations. - Technical Skills
Advanced competence in C/C++, scripting (Python/MATLAB), Model-based Design (Simulink), and version control (Git). Strong analytical background in numerical solutions for rigid‑body, flexible‑body, actuator, and coupled‑dynamic systems. Knowledge of Monte Carlo, probabilistic, or stochastic simulation techniques. - Soft Skills
Solution-oriented mindset, analytical thinking, and keen attention to detail. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet strict deadlines. - Mission Alignment
Strong alignment with our mission to build affordable and mass-manufacturable defence technologies — ensuring every euro spent moves us closer to our goal. - Security Clearance
Willingness to undergo a background check as a condition of employment.
Our Values
Our mission is ambitious and it takes a team that works with the same intensity.
- Own the Mission: Mission first. Always.
We choose impact — we focus on what moves the mission forward fastest instead of “nice-to-haves". We fix it now — when delays or problems appear, we step up, rally the right people, and solve them immediately. We keep momentum — when time matters, we stay focused and move forward without waiting for perfect conditions. - Strive for More: Dare more. Do more. Achieve the impossible.
We challenge the status quo — we question, test, and improve instead of accepting “the usual way.” We embrace discomfort — we step outside comfort zones and turn challenges into growth. We anticipate the future — we build solutions that scale and set higher standards each time. - Build with Trust: Be open. Keep promises.
We walk the talk — what we say, we do. No excuses, no exceptions. We share openly — we communicate clearly and early, even when the news is hard. We own outcomes — we admit errors quickly, fix them, and prevent them from repeating.

About Frankenburg Technologies
Frankenburg Technologies a European defence technology company specializing in rocket science. Our mission is to defend the free world by making cutting-edge defence solutions more accessible — significantly reducing costs and scaling production far beyond current industry capabilities. Uniquely positioned to revolutionize the industry and backed by significant investment from leading industry partners, we are on a clear path to rapid growth.
Our flagship product tackles a monumental engineering challenge: developing the world’s first truly affordable, mass-produced counter-drone missile system with advanced AI integration and easily localized manufacturing. This groundbreaking technology addresses one of the most significant strategic threats of our time — the proliferation of mass-produced UAVs and their risk to national defence and critical infrastructure worldwide.
With strong financial backing and a clear roadmap for success, we are currently expanding our team. With established operations in Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Ukraine, United Kingdom, Denmark, and Poland, we’re expanding to Germany in 2025.
