Senior Propulsion Engineer
About the Role
We are seeking a Senior Propulsion Engineer to lead the design, qualification, and delivery of solid-rocket propulsion systems for our missile programs. Your expertise will blend deep technical skills with standards compliance and hands-on production knowledge to ensure that reliable, safe, and mission-critical hardware reaches the field on schedule.
At Frankenburg, you will join an exceptional team bringing together top engineering and defence expertise from across Europe. In this role, you will own the end-to-end propulsion lifecycle and turn mission requirements into high-performance propulsion solutions. If you thrive on solving complex engineering challenges and want to make a lasting impact on future aerospace capabilities — we want to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the end-to-end development of solid-rocket propulsion systems from concept definition and detailed design through analysis, testing, qualification, and contract execution.
Manage technical subcontractors by defining the scope of work, reviewing deliverables, and ensuring adherence to schedule, cost, and quality targets.
Develop and maintain technical requirement specifications by translating mission needs into measurable performance, safety, and reliability criteria.
Collaborate with mechanical, systems, and integration engineers to optimise propulsion vehicle interfaces, resolve trade-offs, and produce comprehensive interface control documents.
Prepare and review technical documentation, including design reviews, test plans, risk assessments, failure mode analyses, and certification packages.
We Would Love You to Have

Our Values
Our mission is ambitious, and it takes a team that works with the same intensity.
Own the Mission: Mission first. Always.
We choose impact — we focus on what moves the mission forward fastest instead of “nice-to-haves". We fix it now — when delays or problems appear, we step up, rally the right people, and solve them immediately. We keep momentum — when time matters, we stay focused and move forward without waiting for perfect conditions.Strive for More: Dare more. Do more. Achieve the impossible.
We challenge the status quo — we question, test, and improve instead of accepting “the usual way.” We embrace discomfort — we step outside comfort zones and turn challenges into growth. We anticipate the future — we build solutions that scale and set higher standards each time.Build with Trust: Be open. Keep promises.
We walk the talk — what we say, we do. No excuses, no exceptions. We share openly — we communicate clearly and early, even when the news is hard. We own outcomes — we admit errors quickly, fix them, and prevent them from repeating.
