About the Role

We are seeking a mission-driven Warhead Engineer to revolutionize the defence industry and build cutting-edge air defence missile systems that meet the acute demands of modern warfare. At Frankenburg, you will join an exceptional team that unites leading figures from NATO’s eastern flank in both technology and national defence. As our Warhead Engineer, you will be responsible for the proper design, development, evaluation and testing of warheads as well as for safety and arming units for various missile systems. Your role involves close collaboration with cross-functional teams and potential suppliers to ensure the performance, reliability, and safety of handling explosives and safety and arming units (SAU) for missile systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Derive from missile lethality requirements against various air and ground targets, warhead and SAU requirements and concepts. 
• Compose warhead and SAU specifications through technical analysis and for contracting potential warhead/SAU suppliers. 
• Evaluate design and analyse warheads and components from various suppliers based on missile lethality requirements. 
• Ensure modular integration of warheads and SAU into various missiles and fuses.
• Implement testing procedures with suppliers for live warhead tests. 
• Prepare technical documentation and reports on design and testing results.
• Provide safe handling procedures for assembling warheads and SAU, missile hang fires as well as defusing UXOs.
• Provide technical support and troubleshooting for safety-related issues with explosives.

We Would Love You to Have 

• Experience: At least 5 years of experience in warhead design, analysis and testing, and safe handling of explosives, preferably in the missile.
• Knowledge: Strong knowledge of functional safety for warhead/explosives applications. Certified for handling explosives and UXO.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in analysing the effect warhead blast and shrapnels.
• Performance: Proven track record in delivering outstanding results through collaborative teamwork in a challenging, fast-paced environment. 
• Mission Alignment: Deep commitment to our mission of building affordable and mass-manufacturable technologies to enhance defence capabilities. 
• Security Clearance: Willingness to undergo a background check as a condition of employment.
